Join us Monday, Jan. 21st at the main Hughes Library as we celebrate the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The program begins at 1:00 pm and is free and open to everyone.

The program includes:

  • Presentations by Community Artists
    • Lift Every Voice: Dr. King and civil rights activists
    • Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech rendition
    • Songs of Freed
    • Piano Rendition
    • Praise Dance Group
    • Letters…. An Empowerment Speech
  • Youth Activity: Words: His Weapon of Choice
  • Let Freedom Ring Quilts – Fiber Artist, Liz Pemberton,  will guide participants in designing fabric squares that will be formed into a quilt.

Featured performances by Kwanzaa Mama,  Linda Crews, Jonathan Edmonson, FIC Praise Dancers, Javier Gooden & Tiffany Viorla-Calder.
