The Monroe County Historical Association (MCHA), founded in 1921, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, protecting and preserving the rich history of Monroe County, PA through numerous workshops, exhibits, programs, and presentations. The historic 1795 Stroud Mansion serves as the organization's headquarters. The building is located at the corner of 9th and Main Streets in downtown Stroudsburg and features a local history museum and unique genealogy and local history research library. The Monroe County Historical Association also owns the 1882 Driebe Freight Station located at 537 Ann Street, Stroudsburg, and the one-room Bell Schoolhouse located at 6183 Cherry Valley Road (Stormsville, Hamilton Township), Stroudsburg.
